Medjugorje Youth Festival

MEDUGORJE! HEAVEN AND EARTH EMBRACE AT THE YOUTH FESTIVAL OF 2010A.D.
WHAT JOY! WHAT LIGHT! WHAT LOVE! WHAT THEOPHANY!

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light," (Isaiah 9:1) because the Good Teacher has told us what to do to inherit eternal life; (Mark 10:17) and His perfect love casts out all fear and opens hearts that have never been opened before!
During Mass, accompanied by the great Archangel Michael and Mary, the Queen of Peace, on the eve of Her birthday, August 5, after receiving Jesus in Holy Communion, everyone was caught -up in the electrifying joy exploding from the hearts of 50,000 youths, and others together with 515 priests who love Jesus - Our God veiled in The Eucharist; and who worshipped and thanked Him through the eternal waves of the never-ending refrain, 'You are our Peace' sung to the melody of 'Thank you Jesus', enriched by the tremendous music and the beautiful voices of the choir, born of the Spirit of God and not of the flesh.

Suddenly, whilst kneeling and worshipping Jesus within our hearts, it seemed as if we were all swept-up into Heaven and there made One in the golden light and eternal love of God. The door of Paradise had opened and Heaven and Earth became One. The open door revealed Mary Queen of Peace standing enraptured and full of joy beside God, our Father. They were beaming down exalted smiles of greatest happiness as they gazed upon us, and their only 'begotten' crucified Son - "Who is the only Mediator between God and Man". (MQP Oct. 7.81) So great was their happiness for Their great Son with His Victory over all evil during His sacrifice of Calvary and at every Mass, which takes away the sins of the world - along with Their other 50,000 children escorted by their 50,000 guardian angels gathered in Medugorje…that Mary…with all the Angels and Saints in Heaven, sang along with us "You are our Peace" to worship and thank Jesus. They were all in brilliant garments of dazzling white lit by the radiant light of God's glory, and for His joy!

The glorious harmonious voices of Heaven and Earth melted together in an Ocean of Love, and like the waves on the seashore, they swept like velvet over The Bride (the gathered Church) and The Bridegroom ( Christ in every heart) as the musical symphony of the Youth Choir continued to sweep and retreat throughout the whole of Heaven, and over all of planet Earth and from the Fountain-Head in Medugorje, bathing us all in the light and electrifying joy of God's chosen children gathered together from 70 Countries of the World. The fruit of The Gospa with Her six heroic children, the seers! Yet, Who says to each and every one of us, "I am closer to you at the moment of Holy Communion than a seer is in an apparition". (MQP). "I am the Mother who came from the people. 1 cannot do anything without the help of God. I too, must pray like you but do not forget I am the Queen of Peace".(Aug. 29.81) It is the title she first revealed on the Feast of the Transfiguration 29 years ago on August 6, 1981. and is the last title of Her Litany belonging to the Rosary.

Our Mother says, "We all rejoice in Heaven. Rejoice with us!" (MQP 4.22.84) "Paradise is the happiness which awaits those who love God. Jesus was martyred for His faith, but in spite of all He gained the Victory". (MQP 11.3.81) "If you would abandon yourselves to me (by living the messages - especially the five main counsels of prayer, fasting, confession, the Bible and The Eucharist) you will not even feel the passage from this life to the next life". (Jelena: MQP 1986) "You go to Heaven in full conscience, that which you have now. At the moment of death you are conscious of the separation of body and soul. It is wrong to teach people they are born many times and pass into different bodies. One is born only once. The body drawn from the earth never comes back to life again. Man receives a transfigured body for Heaven. Whoever has done great evil in his life can go straight to Heaven if he confesses, is sorry for what he has done, and receives Jesus in Holy Communion at the end of his life". (MQP July 24. 82)

Sent by God as His herald for the Final Mass of the Youth Festival upon Krizevac on the Feast of The Transfiguration, August 6 2010 - Mary Queen of Peace came in the wind!
Looking toward the great and silent mountain silhouetted against the dark sky as an unmovable rock, the clock struck mid-night to mark the beginning of a new day and that of a great Feast. I noticed only the light of The Cross with a few flash-lights here and there as the children of God began to climb to the top to be with their Mother who told us, 'I am often at the foot of the Cross on Krizevac to pray for sinners'; (MQP Nov.3.81) Hidden by the trees in the dark of night, no one would have imagined that tens of thousands of youths and others, were climbing to their rocky penitential beds for the night on the summit, in order to meet with Jesus and His 'beloved' Priests during Mass at 5 o'clock in the morning.

During the night one could not help but ponder the words of the Gospel: "Six days later after the first prediction of the Passion, Jesus took Peter, James and John and led them up a high mountain and there in their presence His clothes became dazzling white. Suddenly there were 2 men there talking with Him; they were Moses and Elijah (representing the 10 Laws of God and the baptism of repentance). And a cloud came and covered them in shadow; and a Voice came from the cloud, 'This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him'. (The NT. Mk 9:1-8, Mtt 17:1-8, Lk 9:28)... 'Therefore everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts upon them will be like the sensible man who built his house on rock. Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled themselves against that house, and it did not fall: it was founded on rock. But everyone who listens but does not act is like the foolish man who built his house on sand....and it fell.' (Mtt 7:24-27).

In contrast to the mighty music and glorious sun of the previous days drenched with intense prayer, fasts and confessions, the mountain appeared to be bathed in Peace and wrapped in the 'gentle breeze of Elijah (IK: 19:11-13). It reminded us that God's Government with the events of His greatest works in the world on Planet Earth are sometimes accomplished in silence, helped by those who suffer ignominy with innocence and patience, pray and fast and who do not forget "that one day of prayer accomplishes more than years of discussions." (MQP) We believe God our Father the Almighty, the Creator of the Universe when He whispers to us like a gentle breeze, "Count on Me to do the great things as I count on you to do the little things - pray, fast and heal a nation with kindness." All graces are given to us. "With prayer and fasting you are able to stop wars and suspend the natural laws of nature." (MQP July 21 82) Prayer is a loving conversation with God "who is the gentlest of all Fathers, and who is only love and does not get angry "(MQP: Jelena). We are able to persuade Him to change His mind, as with any loving Father - and as Our Mother, The Queen of Peace has done for the past 29 years. However, God cannot tolerate evil, so it is inevitable that He annihilates it to save His children.

Lo and Behold! The gentle breeze changed into the theophany of God! His sensible appearance in the motifs of nature - the clouds with rain, lightening and thunder! In this way He reveals His Divinity, and power as Lord over all nature and history as The Creator of all that is seen and unseen; and as the Saviour of His people. "Is it not He Who holds the sea in it's boundary?" It is through His control of nature that God acts to accomplish His will in the events of history to save human souls. The course of Nature is woven into His Plan for the salvation and judgment of the world. In the OT the Israelites thought thunder to be the Voice of Yahweh. Lightening is conceived as His weapon and instrument of judgment. Rain is a blessing and a gift from God because it gives life to the soil and man, and which He gives or withholds at His pleasure. His pleasure being determined by the moral attitude of men.The wind is The Spirit! Born of The Spirit, The Virgin Mary told us "I will come in the wind! The wind is my sign. When the wind blows know that I am with you. You have learnt that the Cross represents Christ. It is a sign of Him. It is the same with the Crucifix in your homes. When it is cold and you come to Mass because you want to offer everything to God, know that I am with you. I am in the wind. Do not be afraid!" (MQP 2.15.84) "Be assured dear children that God loves you therefore He tests you." (MQP 11.11.84: the test was a long rain and is a sign that God has acted. IS 12:17, the OT) Light and glory are also elements of the theophany. Light is vision. God gives light to the eyes through His 10 Commandments. God is Light and those who keep His Commands walk-in-the-lights of Christ!(l Jn 1:7). Jesus is the True Light in whom the Christian abides and becomes the 'light of the world' through Christ Jesus. However, "Light won't reign in the world until people accept Jesus, until they live His words, which is the Word of The Gospel". (MQP (7.30.87).

The luminous cloud at the Transfiguration revealed the presence of God (Mtt 17:5) and made His Voice to be heard from a cloud in NT times as well. Glory has a dazzling quality and confirms that Jesus is truly God. (God is Spirit and 3 Persons in One) God the Father sent God the Son to take to Himself the human condition from The Virgin Mary. In this Way He became the example of how we are to think, speak, and act as God's children. We do this by putting on the mind of Christ, by pondering His words and rooting them in our hearts from genuine Bibles which do not contain distorted words, and by living individually in intimate union with Him in The Eucharist - which is the fullness of His living Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. He suffered and died and sacrificed His life for us, being the 'first-born' of our true human race, so that He might bring forth a harvest of many brothers and sisters, changed into the glorified Body of Christ in The Eucharist . The transfiguration of the body into glory is mentioned by St. Paul in 1 Cor. 15: 4-44; "all men will be brought to life in Christ."

Therefore, dear children, "Today I call you, together with me, to begin to build the Kingdom of Heaven in your hearts so that you may forget that which is personal, and be led by the example of my Son. Think of what is of God. What does He desire of you? Do not permit satan to open the paths of earthly happiness, the paths without my Son. My children, they are false and last a short while. My Son exists. I offer you eternal happiness and peace and unity with my Son - with God. I offer you the Kingdom of God. Thank you. (Mirjana: MQP August 2 2010) "Dear Children, I call you anew to follow me in joy! I desire to lead you all to my Son, your Saviour..." (Maria: MQP: July 25 2010, abbreviated) "Be carriers of my messages. Spread my messages throughout this tired world…Know dear children that the Mother always prays with you and prays for you to Her Son....Thank you dear children that also today you have accepted my messages, and for living my messages.' (Ivan: MQP 7.25.2010 abbreviated).

Here I briefly mention that the youth convert many thousands of older pilgrims by their joyful and heavenly presence; and by their heroic lives filled with the deep virtue of Religion. There is such great healing in their ocean of joy All the stalwart young men and women bowed their knee to the ground, to worship Jesus, our God, in the Tabernacle of The Church of St. James as they passed Him by during the week. On Wednesday, fast day, sometimes it was impossible to find bread in the shops; and a little girl of 4 or 5 made a carpet of the sharp little stones upon a centre aisle from the seating area at The Dome. She then braced herself and knelt down on the stones and lifted her skirt above her knees so that she would not soften the pain of penance. She then stood up and brushed the pebbles off the path leaving no trace behind her. She had tried to imitate the adults in the pew beside her. These youths are fantastic! It is marvelous to see that they keep the 10 Commandments of such a good God by placing their placard "No divorce! And no abortion! Written in many languages and placed in the porch of St. James for all generations to see. Unburdened by the sins of the world with which no one can be happy, peels of justified laughter would rise like fountains into the air no matter what time of the day of the night. How they loved being with one another, without alcohol and without litter although 50,000 of God's children were moving around the village.

No words can touch the depth of gratitude that everyone feels towards all the Priests who magnified The Lord for us with their greatest of efforts to heal a nation, whilst persuading everyone to leave sin behind and press forward into the light, life and happiness of Heaven. In their heroic martyrdom of boiling beneath the sun, where some were fried with the sweat pouring down their faces from their heads as if anointed with copious oil, there wonderful super-natural graces overflowed upon all of us gathered together. Even though some Priests were past the borders of exhaustion - they still allowed the healing voice of Jesus forgiving sins at 11 pm and way into the night, to waft like balm over tortured souls. The prodigal sons and daughters of God meeting their tearful end with old Adam, to begin a 'new life' with Christ Jesus as members of His true human race on The Way to Heaven. What would we do without our most treasured human beings on Earth - true Priests in union with our Eternal High Priest? And what would we do without The Eucharist?

"Oh Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life? (Mark 10:17) I met with Tanja at the Youth Festival. She is 22 years of age and from Germany. Looking for love and happiness she began to drink alcohol with her friends at the age of 14, and by the age of 16 she was fully fledged in the world of immorality with men and drugs although a Catholic. At 18 years of age a youth told her he had been to the Youth Festival in Medugorje where he had found his greatest happiness, and that the music was a thousand times better than at any disco. Later on Tanja booked a seat with a group headed for the Festival. She was shocked to find herself with a 'holy group.' And worse still for her, she was even more shocked to find she had landed into a 'holy place1. She was given a piece of paper with the 10 Commandments of God written on it. When she read and realized what she had done, she wanted to kill herself rather than change her life. Helped by her group, she later went to Confession where she found Jesus waiting for her in union with His 'beloved' Priest. Through the gentle, loving kindness of the Priest she began to experience the happiness welling-up within her which she had searched for all her life. One hour later she emerged from the Confessional as a 'totally new person" with a great hope to stay changed through learning about Jesus in the Bible. She hoped, but did not know if this would be possible. She went home and left all - her hometown, friends and past-times to begin a new life in Christ. She put her story on the Internet and last year, and this year, she brought with her 16 others each time to the Youth Festival in Medugorje, 5 of whom needed very deep conversions. Her deepest experiences of God were found in the Confessional and during Adoration of Jesus where the music and the voice of Jesus through the Priests seemed to penetrate into her heart and entire being. What a fruit! And just because one young man mentioned the happiness he had found in Medugorje at the Youth Festival. The Youth Festival is a miracle of Jesus! All Glory to God!
Mary E. Smith, August 14th. 2010

On August 5 1984 there had been fasting and continuous prayer for 3 days in preparation for The Virgin Mary's birthday. Confessions were heard by the priests without respite. Great numbers were converted. Our Lady said, "Never in my life have I cried with sorrow as I have cried this evening with joy!" The Priests who heard confessions on that day had great joy.
