We kindly suggest to all the responsible for web pages about Medjugorje:

  • To develop a healthy and balanced spirituality which clearly and unequivocally shows that the message of Medjugorje is rooted in the Church Tradition and the Holy Scripture, and entirely obedient to the Magisterium of the Church.

  • While interpreting Our Lady’s messages, to avoid any “apocalypticism”, as well as any linkage with “apparitions”, “visions” and “messages” for which the Magisterium of the Church said clearly that they are not compatible with Catholic teaching.

  • To emphasize clearly that they do not have the intention to anticipate the judgement of the Church about the supernatural character of the events and messages of Medjugorje.

The Shrine has not given any mission to any person or community – neither in Medjugorje nor outside of Medjugorje – to spread and interpret Our Lady’s messages. All these are private and spontaneous initiatives of the faithful and of communities.

We encourage all the web-masters of the pages speaking about Medjugorje to put on their pages to link to the Official web-site of the Shrine of the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje: www.medjugorje.hr. and email me at info@medjugorje.ie
Thank you for all you are doing to spread Our Lady’s message of peace!

“The Mother's Village” is an institution for both preschool education and the upbringing and social care for children and youth. It belongs to the Community of the Herzegovinian Franciscans of the Province of the “Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary” in Mostar, BiH. It was founded in 1993, during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The building and operating was started by Father Slavko Barbaric and the project was aided by the Franciscan School Sisters of “The Holy Family” from the Herzegovinian Province. The Mother’s Village evolved out of the need for protection and care for the children who were wounded by the loss of their homes and parental care during and after the war. It started working officially on September 8, 1996.

The Mother’s Village was built and maintained by pilgrims and donors from all over the world.

The Association of the guides for pilgrims in the parish of Medjugorje was founded in 1991. From its beginning it has acted in accordance with the Shrine.
